Mr. Galil received his Doctor Juris in 2004 at Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent Scholar and a Fellow Alexander Hamilton, and served in the editorial staff of the Columbia Journal of Business Justice. In 2004, he received his M.B.A. from Columbia Business School and was elected in Beta Gamma Sigma. Prior to his studies, Mr. Galil served from 1996 to 2000 in the Israeli Armed Forces, where he held the rank of captain. Mr. Galil graduated from Columbia College as a class salute in 1996, with a bachelor`s degree in arts, summa cum laude, economics and political science, and was elected in Phi Beta Kappa. Prior to joining Gibson Dunn, Mr. Galil was a partner in Jones Day`s New York office. Mr. Galil is admitted to the New York Bar.

He is fluent in Hebrew. Yair Y. Galil is an advisor to Gibson Dunn`s New York office, where he is a member of Gibson Dunn`s Global Financial Practices Group. Mr. Galil has represented a large number of clients – including sponsors, issuers, financial institutions and investment funds – in complex financing transactions. Executives in these transactions ranged from loan-financed acquisitions and dividend recaps to debt buybacks and other non-judicial capital restructuring operations, to external debt and bankruptcy financing. He also frequently conducts credit analyses on a borrower`s debt and advises on potential weaknesses and restructuring approaches.
